01General
This document is a public offer (art. 437 of the Civil Code) by the operator of the ÉDITION platform. Registering an account or placing a bid constitutes acceptance. The platform may be used by persons of full legal capacity aged 18+.

02Definitions
- “Platform” — the ÉDITION website and its services.
- “Lot” — a work offered at auction on behalf of its author.
- “Bid” — a price offer; “maximum bid” — the ceiling for automatic proxy bidding.
- “Estimate” — an indicative valuation; “reserve” — a confidential minimum selling price.
- “Open call” — a format with a fixed start and increment and no reserve.
- “Buyer’s premium” — the operator’s fee added to the hammer price; the rate is stated on the “How it works” page.
03Role of the platform
The operator acts as the authors’ agent (Civil Code ch. 52) and does not own the lots. The sale contract is concluded between the buyer and the seller (the author); seller details are provided to the buyer with the transaction documents (Consumer Protection Law art. 26.1(2)). Auctions on the platform are voluntary and are not “public auctions” within the meaning of art. 449.1 of the Civil Code.
04Account
Users must provide accurate details, must not share access, and are responsible for actions taken under their account. The operator may suspend an account for breach of these terms or signs of fraud.
05Bidding
A bid is an irrevocable offer to purchase at the stated price (Civil Code arts. 435–438). The highest bidder at closing wins, provided the reserve (if any) is met, and is obliged to pay. The mechanics are described in the Auction Rules, which form part of these terms.
06Prices and payment
Prices are quoted in rubles. In open-call sales prices may be expressed in conventional units (Civil Code art. 317); all settlements within Russia are made exclusively in rubles at the Central Bank rate on the invoice date (Federal Law No. 173-FZ on currency regulation). The buyer’s premium is added to the hammer price. A fiscal receipt is issued on payment (Law 54-FZ).
07Payment and title
An invoice is issued after closing; payment is due within 5 business days unless stated otherwise. Title passes upon full payment and delivery of the work (Civil Code art. 223). Delivery terms are set out in “Payment, delivery and returns”.
08Intellectual property
Buying the original artwork does not transfer the copyright in the work (Civil Code arts. 1227, 1291): the buyer owns the object, not the reproduction rights. Lot images are published with the authors’ consent and may not be reused without the rightsholder’s permission.
09Liability and disputes
The parties follow a mandatory pre-action claim procedure with a 30-day response period. Russian law applies. Consumers may bring court claims under art. 17 of the Consumer Protection Law.
10Changes
The operator may amend these terms; a new version takes effect upon publication. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance.
The Russian version is legally binding; the English text is a courtesy translation.
