ÉDITION
Kikimora, 2024. Oil on stretched canvas, 80 × 100 cm

About the work

A figure from Slavic folklore — the spirit of the marsh and the forgotten corner of the house — painted not as a monster but as a woman bent to the ground under the weight of her own hair.

About the artist

A painter working with the figure as a state of mind rather than a likeness. Her canvases are built in layers of thinned oil and drips that let earlier images show through, so that each figure carries its own past. She works in series, returning to the same body — often her own — to trace self-knowledge, fear and the unconscious.
