Payment, Delivery and Returns

Version of July 22, 2026

Consumer Protection Law art. 26.1; Government Decree No. 2463; Law No. 4804-1 (cultural property).

01Distance selling

Sales are made by distance selling (Consumer Protection Law art. 26.1; Decree No. 2463). Before the contract is concluded the buyer receives full information: description, images, condition, provenance, price and payment terms.

02Withdrawal right and unique goods

The buyer may withdraw at any time before delivery. After delivery the general 7-day withdrawal period applies; however, goods of proper quality with individually-defined properties, usable only by the acquiring person, are non-returnable (art. 26.1(4) para. 4 of the Consumer Protection Law). Original artworks are unique (individually-defined) goods.

03Conformity guarantee

If the delivered work materially fails to match its description, or its attribution is refuted by independent expert examination, the buyer may claim a return within 14 days of receipt: the full amount, including the buyer’s premium, is refunded once the work is returned in its original condition.

04Delivery

Delivery within Russia uses a specialised art courier with packing suited to the work; pickup can be arranged. Times and costs are stated in the invoice. Risk passes to the buyer upon handover (Civil Code art. 459); shipments are insured for the sale amount.

05Export

Export of cultural property from Russia is governed by Law No. 4804-1: items over 50 years old and certain categories require expert examination and a Ministry of Culture permit. Works by living contemporary authors are generally exportable with supporting documents (contract, receipt, platform certificate). Export formalities are the buyer’s responsibility; the platform supplies the purchase document set.

06Documents

Each purchase comes with a fiscal receipt (Law 54-FZ), a transaction document identifying the seller, and a platform certificate describing the work.
